Adaptations
The classic monobloc chair provokes a love-hate relationship as a piece for and against the world. As one of the most mass-produced and affordable chairs in the world, it’s a multipurpose piece that has gained global recognition. People often modify the chair to serve new functions, but it’s also notorious for breaking easily or being neglected.
In the project “Adaptations,” I explore playful, creative, and imaginative alternatives for these broken parts, transforming them into miniature sculptures. This approach emphasizes the inherent vulnerability of the chair and transforms its neglected elements into vibrant expressions.
