Art in the classroom

This traveling art project is designed to visit primary schools, introducing children to the world of art in a fun and engaging way. Through interactive workshops, kids will learn how to look at things differently, enhancing their perception and experience of the world around them.

How do you actually look? Do you look for a long or short time? Do you focus on details or the whole picture? Do you use other senses while looking? A transport crate is the focal point in the classroom. Why? What is it doing there? The expertly crafted crate protects what's inside and, with its closed form, sparks the imagination, fueling curiosity.

Once opened, it turns out that there are several transport crates nested inside, just like the well-known Matryoshka dolls. One by one, from large to small, they are revealed. Each crate is experienced in a unique way, as creativity is largely shaped by how you perceive things. One crate makes exciting sounds, another has strange viewing holes, and yet another has screens displaying an animation. These experiences are discussed in class.

Finally, the children are given the task to design their own experiential crate.
